i have a full patent pending on a housewares / home organizer item that i am trying to get licensed. i have had a market report done by lambert, but not sure if they are a scam or legit. they scored me very high, within a couple points of them picking it up to doing the full marketing at their expense. they did not try to sell me on anything additional. it seems companies like reese and lambert all require $100 or more to evaluate the product and this can get very costly. i am thinking about summitting to companies myself, but don't know which ones or who to send it to. i would be happy to split any royalties with a marketing firm that can get it licensed, but don't know where to go. i am a school teacher full time so i don't have a great deal of time to work on the marketing aspect. i have contacted several manufacturers to produce it myself and start out selling it on ebay and on line.

can anyone give me direction to find a legit marketing agent?

thanks

Mickey,

You can be your own agent. I do it all the time. I have 5 items on the market with another coming out next month. I do tools, toys, kitchen items and eyeglass products. Go to the stor you think would carry your item if it were marketed. Look for any product that fits into your catergory and look on the box for contact info. Go to their website and see if they have anything posted for inventors. Look at this one for Black and Decker http://www.blackanddecker.com/CustomerCent...duct-Ideas.aspx They look at outside ideas. Or this one http://www.hogwildtoys.com/ from Hogwild toys. If they do noy have anything listed on their site call them and ask if they look at outside ideas and if yes who in the company do you contact.

Be sure and get a signed nondisclosure before you send them anything. Once you have that you are on your way to submitting your idea. Be as professional as possible in your presentation. Keep it short and to the point. Most of mine are a one page sheet done in PowerPoint. This includes a drawing.
I have never spent over a $100 to get any item picked up. The company has paid the patenting costs if they licensed the idea. Don't let the invention submission companys fool you thinking you have to pay thousands to get a company interested. It is a lie.
Check out my inventions at http://www.rogerbrown.net and good luck
