After careful consideration, I'm just going to outright sell my idea. Whether it be to an individual or company. I don't want to have to worry about paying for a patent, prototype or anything. I'd be willing to either split profits w/ someone, or completely sell.... Where can I go to do that?

OR

I have an idea for a product for children, would I be naive in thinking I could sell the idea right to a 'kid friendly' company?

YOu want to license your idea to a company for a continous royalty. Not give it away. Look for contact info on companies that carry items similar to what you are proposing. Then contact them and ask if they look at outside ideas from Inventors. Then you do the nondisclosure form and submit your idea for review.
