Next week two patent "reform" bills, H.R. 1908 and S. 1145 will be voted on by members of congress.
Please let's do everything to stop these bills. They will severely weaken patents of independent inventors. Big companies and patent pirates don't like new innovation or inventions created by small independent inventors because they take business away from some long-established companies. More than half of our country's most valuable innovations and inventions have come from small business or independent inventors. These people often spend 100s of thousands of dollars to develop such ideas. They need reimbursement from the marketplace that our strong patent system gives us. Those assets are what has made our country the strongest country for centuries now. The high price of health care has caused labor rates in the USA to be very high. Without valuable technological advances we would fall behind fast. It happened to the Roman Empire. Eventually barbarians conquered the capitol and plundered it.

These big companies, banks, insurance companies, and patent pirates came together to form the "Coalition for Patent Fairness". They have very deep pockets and have spent a fortune on lobbying for the patent reform bills. Many of the companies in the Coalition have spent a lot of money on campaign contributions in hopes of favors for this very cause too.

Over the summer many groups have come out in opposition to the patent reform bills, including three major labor unions. We have a very good chance of stopping these bills.
