In the current state of the US market, there is a recession and companies are holding back on there spending...
because: they are focusing on liquidity, cannot get credit, low demand on products, and lack of confidence in the entire system. However, companies will always need to develop or produce new products in the future. In certain industries it takes years to develop products. For example. Ford and General Motors will always need to develop new cars even though they have a crisis and so do there suppliers. (my product is aimed at top tier suppliers not the car manufacturers) This sounds to me that it is a good idea to launch a product because R&D spending is low. But then again tooling cost is really expensive and testing is not cheap, general market demand is low. and ect... But does this mean that mean I should wait for next year. Even though some of there suppliers are pretty healthy? Because I have developed a component that will indirectly help meet a couple of state, and federal legislations in the US and around the world. Also provide benefits to the consumer end, and will help open new oppurtunities for the supplier and some trends. The product fits with 4 suppliers mission statement and there objectives in there financial reports last year. Also, I have recieved referrals and recommendations to talk to a couple of goverment contractors who performs research in a fairly well known university in North America, and a goverment investigator and also a non-profit president, and a board member. Im not sure what I should do... Maybe I should pitch the invention the companies for free? and make them pay for the legal fees? so it will be a mutual win-win situation.... Because legal fees are high.. but patent lawyers arn't working as hard in the companies if R&D spending is lower... Therefore it doesnt cost them much because they pay their lawyers with salary. Or should i not trust there lawyers because they will trick me? I know a NDA is a must. even if I have to sign their own version But as inventors we must take risks and innovate in the process in launching our ideas. Im not sure if I should wait for the recession or dive in it... Im thinking that I should make my interviews with these experts about my invention to create a strong reputation to succeed. and hopefully the economy would alread hit rock button and pick up... at the point of my product launch. I havnt filed a Provisional Patent Application... Thank god. At this currrent moment, I know how to get most of the companies contact information, not there website but the marketing bosses like, vp, director, manager and ect... So i have alot ready to be used. Also im scared ! I made a 3D/CAD design of it. for free So far I only spend probaly about less than 150 dollars on everything... plus alot of sweat equity. |
