VACUUM SYSTEM FOR THE REMOVAL OF HAIR CUTTINGS AND CLIPPINGS

THE PROFESSIONAL WAY TO REMOVE HAIR CUTTINGS SIMPLY AND HYGENICALLY.
A new invention intended for the professional hair care market. It is a convenient and compact hand held vacuum cleaner designed specifically for the removal of unwanted hair cuttings from a customer's neck, collar and clothing, such cuttings can be irritating to the hairdresser, customers and in particular children. The traditional approach to removal of hair cuttings is to use a brush but this can be uncomfortable and is not fully effective in removing hair.

The concept provides powerful suction for complete removal of cut hairs combined with a soft brush for comfort when placed in contact with the customers skin.

The concept is currently at the design and prototype stage. A prototype has been constructed on the basis of a converted hair dryer operating in suck rather than blow mode and with the heating element removed. A small hair collection bag and soft brush have been added to the nozzle of the unit to provide a fully functional demonstration unit. Flickenson Associates, Industrial Designers have taken the concept a stage further by drafting a production design for a hair removal appliance. A patent for the concept has been applied for.

It houses a non return flap to prevent collected hair from returning back down the nozzle. At the tip of the nozzle is a soft brush attachment to provide comfort when placed against skin, The main body houses a suction fan and detachable filter. A vent is positioned at the rear underside of the housing to allow filtered air to be expelled. The unit will employ a compact mains driven motor and fan unit.
